Blogger v Wordpress

The first problem I have encountered with Blogger is that creating menus to help readers find their way around your blog is not as intuitive as in Wordpress.

To create menus as headings, first each post should be tagged with the menu headings.   (It is important to organise your blog by using tags and this will be covered in this post.  In the meantime, here is a very good explanation of why you should be bothered about tags).

Where Blogger falls down is that those tags cannot then easily be arranged into categories to create drop down menus.

This image is an example of a drop down menu using categories in a Wordpress from the WP Tavern  blog.

And this is what I want to do in Blogger.  At the moment it looks like it involves quite a lot of coding.  As one of the purposes of this blog is to give guidance to students, I really want to try and find an easier way.

In the meantime, this post explains why and how to use tags.
